Hello From China
Hello, all! I'm still here in China, my 7th or 8th day or so, I've lost track. I haven't had much access to the Internet here (ahem) aside from expensive hotel business centers, so I'm now at the Shanghai Library, surfing away for 50 cents an hour. What a relief.I'm not going to post something long about my travels now, as I've taken hundreds of photos and lots of notes and plan to write up quite a lot of thoughts when I get back. Suffice it to say, it's been a wonderful adventure. China is definitely a happening place. Granted, I've seen only Beijing for a few days and Shanghai for less than 24 hours, both of which certainly give a distorted view of life in the country in general, but the place is much more modern, sophisticated and efficient than I had expected. Really, you could be in America or Europe for how developed the place is, aside from the fact that everything is upsidedown and backwards (metaphorically speaking).
Stay tuned. I just wanted to publish something before I left, to prove that it could be done from here as well as to slake my blogging jones, if even only slightly.
me again, cause I saw 'Beijing' , the name of my hometown .I miss there although just leave about one year for overseas study. It changes every day , full of challenges and oppertuties. Looking forward to see the photos you took from there, and want to know what kind of 'distorted view of life' in there. I don't want to offend you , instead, I readed some blog things from your works and want to show my respect. But for the life of Beijing, it's great to me except the weather. Every normal person has his/her small but real happyness, love and their different ways to enjoy the life which might difficult to understand or imagine by western country people because of different culture. For example, when I got headache and use a simple but efficient method to squeezed a red mark between eyebrow, Uk friends said ' what a special tattoo!'
Welcome to visit Beijing in 2008 when it'll hold Olympic Games. To me, love and life is actual in there and get better and better : )
